Please, no political flack. Just making a humorous subject line.
Preinstalled apps (AKA bloatware) on Verizon phones annoy some of us more than others. Generally, we're told that we can't uninstall this stuff, only the apps that we ourselves have downloaded (unless we do things to our phones that will void the warranty). But I've found that some of the bloatware (not all by any means) can actually be dumped.
For instance, I just discovered that Lets Golf 2 is taking up an outrageous 139 MB of space in internal storage, and NFS Shift another 100 MB. Whatever games I may play on my phone, these two won't be among them. From the Home screen, using Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage applications, and tapping on one of these two apps, brings up a dialog that does in fact allow them to be uninstalled. I can't seem to get rid of the darn icons from the Applications drawer, but (unlike others, such as NFL Mobile and Slacker Radio), the apps themselves can be uninstalled.
A very minor triumph, to be sure, but I take them where I can find them these days.
