Phone screen lights up-no call-buzzes no call

I have a Samsung Stratussphere. While the phone is laying on a table or desk, sometimes the screen with light up. No call is coming in and no text is being sent or received. The screen just turns on. And last night it started to buzz as if I had it on vibrate, which I don't. It will vibrate once and the screen doesn't light up, so no call coming in, no text coming in and no calendar reminder notification. I turned the phone off and pulled the battery, but it still does this stupid buzzing. Just 3 times today and the other thing just lighting up by itself, still happening couple times a week or more.

WRT the phone lighting up, mine does that sometimes too. I believe it is the calendar or something else syncing up. I don't know why the screen needs to light when it does that, but it does. I don't think it causes any harm; it will turn itself back off pretty quickly.

As for the buzzing, that I don't know about. You could check and see whether it is set to Vibrate Always: Home screen > Menu > Settings > Sound settings > Vibrate. If it's set to Always you can change it to what you want. That still wouldn't tell you what's buzzing, but now it would give a notification tone of some kind, which could help. Of course, if it's not set to Always the mystery remains.

Hi, Dave-in-Decatur, Thank you for responding. I forgot to mention that the screen lights even when calendar has no events scheduled.

I checked to see if vibrate is on Always (thank you for directions) and it wasn't. I guess these little "ticks" aren't

anything to be concerned about, but it a little disconcerting to be reading a book and notice the screen light up or

go buzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

I'm fairly sure the screen lighting up is some kind of syncing or other background task, if not the calendar then something else. Sorry I can't help with the buzzing. Hopefully someone else here will.
