I have had my phone for almost a month and use it mostly in Wi-Fi hotspots. I rarely have to rely on 3 or 4g unless I am driving, so I have smart actions turn my 3g/4g radio off when I am in range of certain routers like my house or work. I never had any issues until last Monday. I noticed that when I checked my phone, the WiFi symbol was grey. I tried to do a simple google search and it stated it could not connect to a network. After a few minutes, suddenly the wifi symbol went blue and I was able to get weather updates, e-mail, etc...basically data. But then it would go to grey again randomly. And I also noticed the signal meter was not as responsive. Last week as I walked away from the room with the router, I would see the signal slowly drop away the further away I got...normal. Now I do that and I hardly get any registry from the signal meter. It stays on 3-5 bars and does not move no matter where I go. Occasionally when it pops back to blue, it will change the meter strength.
I make sure wifi is always on and I make sure it is never on a sleep mode. Nothing has changed with my router. It still functions as it always had wireless or otherwise with all my other devices.
I'm wondering if my wifi radio is defective.
