Download ringtone to second phone

My wife is on my FamilyShare plan and wanted to get a ringtone. I went to the Verizon site to download a ringtone and it downloaded it to my phone. I didn't get any option to select which phone to send it to. How do I move this ringtone from my phone to my wife's phone? Or if that doesn't work, how do I download the ringtone to her phone instead of mine?

Make sure you have SEPARATE online accounts for her phone and your phone. The ringtones get sent to the phone number that was used to log in originally. Just set up a MyVerizon account for the other line and you will be able to get the ringtones etc sent to the right phone.

**edit** And I would try calling customer service, explain what happened and see if they can adjust the charges on the line that wasnt supposed to get the ringtones. It can be done, I should know lol :smileywink:

I am having the exact same problem. I really hope this gets a reply so I don't have to pay twice for one song to be used on one phone..

try sending a picture message to your wifes phone. there should be an option to attached a picture and a sound file. scroll down until the sound box is highlighted. this should change your options to be able to press a button to attach a sound file. If the ringtone you downloaded is not in there then you cannot send it to your wife.

There are other not so easy option. I downloaded a program on my computer that can access the ringtone folder of my phone. With it I can drop or copy a ringtone in my phone. So there's probably similar program for your phones.

I called tech support and they got me straightened out with the same answer. I created an account for her and used it to buy the tone.

I did try forwarding it, but was not allowed to because it's copy-protected.

I just did the same thing. :smileysad: (wanted to purchase a ringtone form y wife's phone and it was sent to me.

Are you saying that I have to 'buy it again', after I setup an account with my wife's phone number??
this seems wrong, because we only have 1 account (2 lines and 2 phones on the same account). Why do I need

to create a 2nd account?? I'm confused.

It can't hurt to plead your case with Customer Service - nicely, politely, and they will probably credit your account.

I attempted to make an account for myself, but it won't let me since my number already exists in our current plan. Any advice?

Hmmm, when I created an account for my daughter's number, it picked up that it was a secondary line, and only gave her limited access to things. Perhaps that's one more thing that's not quite working due to the website updates. :smileysad: That line is getting old.....
