HELP!!! I want to put ringtones on my iphone 4S.

I downloaded the ringtone maker for my phone. Followed the instructions to the letter but I do not have a ringtone file in my itunes and that is where I am told to put the new ringtone. The ringtones are less than 30 sec so it is not the size. Extremely frustrated and can not find anyone who knows what to do other than to jail break my phone and I am not ready to do that yet. I just want some decent ringtones instead of the lame ones that come with the iphone 4S.

Google it, you don't need a ringtone maker. You still have to go to itunes on a computer and move the sounds to the "tones" folder. I've done it and once I figured it out it was pretty easy. There also videos on youtube on doing that take you step by step.

You have to sync with iTunes then it will say file to be moved or something so it moves over to iPhone after saving the piece of ringtone.

What types of sound files are compatible with itunes? I've got some midi files I want to use as ringtones, but itunes will not take them.

@JD_Jones - Customizing ringtones is always fun! When it comes to the iPhone, the supported format is .M4A and .MP4. You may want to convert the midi sound file to a compatible format in order to use it, or maybe record it and then convert the audio to a compatible format. I would check online for helpful guides to assist in the conversion process!
