trouble setting up apple id for itunes

hi i just got a apple i phone4 for my husband and i had back up assistance on his other phone.

I wanted to put it on his new phone but it said i need a apple id so i set up a email address for him to use and went through the steps to set up a apple id

but when it says to confirm the apple id by clicking on activate on the email i'm supposed to get i go to check the email and never get the email so how can i activate the apple id to be able to use the app store or i tunes on his phone?

could someone please help

Of course I can jump in to help. I'm hoping that you have received the email by now and have full access to iTunes on your husband's phone. You can also visit iforgot.apple.com and this will give you the options to reset the password and verify. Let me know if you need further assistance with this issue.
