Cannot Access BTC Data Plan with Iphones

We are considering which smart phone should be purchased and it is a tight race between the Iphone 5(S when it arrives) and the Galaxy. I have been posing questions on various fora regarding the benefits of each, and one thread has indicated the Bahamas Telephone dataplan with their SIM card does not work in Iphones.

Is this a legitimate issue with the global capabilities of the Iphone, or what?

Dan, I'm glad you're being proactive in checking available features for your phone before purchasing. The iPhone 5 is a global device and I have traveled with one internationally with no issues. It works in the Bahamas as well via roaming, but I cannot speak on how it will work with another carrier's SIM card in another country.
