iPhone 4S shuts down while using some aps

I am having problems with my iPhone while using aps. I can be using Facebook, using my email or playing a game and the app shuts down and returns me to my home screen. Is there anything I can do? I have downloaded the latest updates and nothing seems to help. I would appreciate any assistance!!! Thank you!

I see that getting very frustrating very quickly, becks522! Lets take a look into this. You did a great job checking on the latest software version. When did this begin? Is there any pattern to this that you've taken note of? If this persists, I suggest backing up your personal information and performing a reset (steps http://bit.ly/Rnq9mu)

I agree with AdamE_VZW. When this starts happening, it is time to factory reset your device. I have had this same behavior happen in the past with iPods, iPads and iPhones. Apps just randomly quitting and returning to the home screen. In the past, a factory reset usually gets it working again.
