Cannot get e-mail

Yesterday all my e-mail accounts connected to my iPhone5 were working fine. Today I am receiving the "Cannot Get Mail, the connection to the server failed". I tried re-setting my wifi connection but that didn't help. Any suggestions? (I also cannot retrieve e-mail from my iTouch which also was working fine yesterday)

I have this problem also. Worked fine for a couple of weeks and suddenly yesterday would not get Hotmail. "Cannot connect to server" is all I get. I tried deleting the account, then turning the phone off for a minute, then adding the account. It went through the "verification" process fine, but then said it couldn't connect to server. Very frustrating.

MSN has been having Hotmail problems for a couple days. I can access it through the MSN mobile browser and signing into Hotmail, but the MAIL button gives me the server error as well. I've tried deleting and reestablishing. I am hoping the problem will remedy when MSN gets their issues resolved. See the status update here. https://status.live.com/detail/hotmail

I have the same problem ... and it is on a 4S, not a 5.

I guess you're right, EvilDemonDevilDog. After 3 days my service has suddenly come back. I guess it's just a matter of waiting for MSN.

Mine is doing the same thing. Waiting for very important emails and now need to stay by a computer... arg

Glad to hear. Mine is still in the dumps!

I find it interesting that the MSN Hotmail status says it is running normally, but if you go to the Sign In button in the upper far right and log in, it then tells you, well, not exactly, maybe tomorrow. So i will keep typing in my login and and password on MSN mobile to check e mail. I just miss my hit one button world.

For those of you who might be interested - the link will tell you it is fine - sign in and you get the more detailed update message...might as well bring back dial up while we are at it (loading screens were such fun).

have you tried accessing MSN direct via safari or another browser and then going to Hotmail? I've been able to get Hotmail via those routes, just cannot use the MAIL button on the i phone.
