No sound on Iphone 5

Please help. I have no alert sounds coming from my device (no call ringtone, no text alerts, email alerts, and no app sounds either). I have checked all sound settings. I had made sure the silencing switch is in the right position and the phone is not it "do not disturb" mode. Any other thoughts on what the problem might be?

I had the same problem with Iphone 4S - took a can of compressed air and blew out headset jack and it worked (this was based on several google searched and thought I'd give it a try and voila! It worked. Good luck!

You've already reveiwed many of the things that I would check, if I was having the same problems. The information that imakepeoplesmile provided was also great. Did you give that try? If so, did that resolve the issue for you? If not, I would suggest contacting customer service at 800-922-0204. We may need to replace your phone. Let me know.
