My imessage all of sudden is not working. I can send the "green" message but not my regular imessage,I tried turning it on an off but now it just says waiting for activation?

Was I messaging my sister who also has iPhone we both went green about 2 hours ago still green with other iPhone users. She is in minnesota and I am in Indiana...I have verizon she has AT&T. It must be an apple issue....
Same here in Poconos Pa.. I reset, turned off, and reset again. Still getting the green bubbles..
