contacts and facebook

I didn't authorize my phone or my facebook account to merge or whatever, but there are a ton of contacts in my contact list from my facebook friends list. I don't want them there. Most of them don't even have a phone number. My phone says I can't delete them (says they are "read only"), but says I can hide them. I've done that once, but now they are all back. How can I delete them for good?

This is not going to really help but, When you logged on to Facebook on the android a splash screen asked if you wanted to merge your Facebook friends and I am sure it was a knee jerk reaction but you accidently hit Ok.

In your phones settings there are apps that synchronize with your phone, facebook and gmail and hotmail and quite a few others do this and they do sync without you doing anything.

What I did was turn off the contact sync on facebook etc. then went to my contact list and got rid of them. Your owners manual tells you how to access these sync accounts. My wife owns the droid so I know a little about them but not so much more than a good owners manual...
