iPhone 4S randomly shutting down

I've only had my iphone 4s for about a month and it seems like every few days it will randomly shut down. It seems to get really hot sometimes. I've tried turning off all the location services.. thinking that has something to do with it, but it still happens. Today it even shut down on me in the middle of a call!! And it had a full battery!-- Please let me know if you have any ideas or suggestions.

Hi....my daughter just called in a panic that her iPhone4s just shut down & doesn't respond at all. googled the problem and she tried this and it worked...hold down sleep/wake button & home button at the same time for 10-15 sec until apple logo appears. this apparently resets the phone.

Whoa! If your phone is overheating or really hot, then please take the device to nearest Verizon Wireless Store to have the battery checked immediately http://bit.ly/3SdsA . We do not want you to use the device when its hot. Has there been any liquid or physical damage to this device? Did you buy the device from Verizon Wireless? Does the device power back on when you hold the power key, or do you have to hold home & power button at the same time? Try a Hard Reset/Restore to the device per the software maybe corrupted http://bit.ly/vA8ie9. Keep me posted.
