Does anyone else here have a droid razr that goes really really slow? mine goes slow and apps crash all the time... im gonna put mine back to factory settings to see if it helps.
Here is How to Clear the System Cache: Follow the Directions as Noted
These are the Instructions on Clearing the Cache Partition: For Razr & Razr Maxx
Top Alternate method
You may want to try a system cache clear first (it's less painful and sometimes is all you need).
Thanks.. but how would i go about that?
If that Does Not Help you May Have to Do a Factory Reset there are instructions on the Forum just do a Search of Factory Reset Razr / Razr Maxx and as Search is your Friend it will Pop up the Instructions) I will suggest this if this is your only alternative to correct an issue and your uneasy doing a F.R. Contact Customer Service 1-800-922-0204 Option 3 Which is Tech and they can Assist you threw the Factory Reset) you will have to Re-Inter your Google account and reload the Apps you had but if you have your Phone book set up with your Google Account it Will load it with in Seconds of entering the Account but as Tiki Pointed out the System Cache might be all you need to Do) Good Luck b33:smileyhappy:
Worked for me! Thanks..
my phone is super slow. i can get all the way to the driod guy laying on his side, but pushing the up/down at the same time does nothing at that point. Any suggestions?
Try this:
Power down phone
Hold volume up/down & power simultaneously until you see the Boot Mode Selection Menu
Use volume down to navigate to 'Recovery', use volume up to select
Should see screen with triangle and exclamation point next to an Android
Press volume up/down simultaneously to go into system recovery *
Use volume rocker to navigate to 'wipe cache' and use power button to select
Once finished, use volume rocker to navigate to 'reboot system now' and use power button to select
* if doesn't work:
press and hold the volume down and wait for a second or two, then press and hold the volume up and the volume down buttons for 5-6 seconds and then release
I have tried that...it just freezes on the recovery screen picture of the andriod on its side. No matter how long I hold the volume button, nothing happens.
If you haven't tried this you might Run a System Cache Clear..
fullhouse451, let's smash the gas peddle and speed it up! Your device may be cluttered with alot of information and 3rd party software issues. I recommend that you uninstall any unwanted applications in Settings, delete text messaging conversations, call logs, and e-mails. Once you've removed unwanted information from your phone, power it off/on to soft reset it. I trust that these steps will improve the performance of your device. Mine is doing the same thing. I've cleared all texts, calls, emails and cleared the cashe three times and my apps still randomly shut down. Sometimes the keyboard doesn't work either. Anything else I can do with it?
Hi ellisaustin, Let's get your phone working like a well oiled machine once again! How long has this been happening? Did you notice this start after installing an application or an update? Have you gone as far as completing a factory reset as previously suggested in the thread? I am eager to continue troubleshooting to work towards a solution.Thank you,YaleK_VZWFollow us on Twitter @VZWsupport
This is my first post here, but I am having the same problem. My razr is so slow I can barley use it. It will lock up and force me to reset when doing some of the most simple (trying to call/send a text). Please help!
Have you Tried any suggestion listen on the Forum.? , Power Cycle , Clear System Cache, Run the phone in Safe Mode to find problematic 3rd party Apps.. Any one of these suggestions can help the phone you may fix the issue using one of them or it May take all three. Give one or all a Try then report back to this Post.. We can go from there b33
I haven't done a factory reset, and I'm pretty sure it started about 6 or 7
months ago.

Mine is going slow, force closing, freezing to where I can't even lock or unlock the screen, I receive duplicate text messages. Sometimes it doesn't even send them. I have had SO many replacement phones and logged so many hours on the phone with customer service that I am about at my wits end with this. My husband is seriously considering switching providers because for the last year and a half we have had nothing but problems with our faulty phones being replaced with faulty phones.
We can't let you go, BranwenShelton. I too was having a problem with freezing. Once I did the hard reset approximately 2 weeks ago, it's been smooth sailing. I don't want you to go quite that far just yet. Have you tried it in Safe Mode http://bit.ly/OJWrbo? We want to get to the root cause of the freezing. Let's get to your happy place again so you and your husband can forget about leaving. TamaraH_VZWFollow us on Twitter @VZWSupport

I still have the same problems. My phone will not enter recovery mode and I have been unable to perform any of the listed suggstions.
Hi fullhouse451,I know sometimes it can be a little tricky getting your phone into recovery mode. Have you tried to do this with your phone off? A lot of times powercycling your phone will do the trick. Keep us posted. Thanks, BobbyS_VZWFollow us on Twitter @VZWSupport
Hi
Its my first post regarding my slow responding Razr Maxx, I did follow your detail instruction and cleared my cache, thanks to your instructions.
My phone is much better now, but still a bit slow, is there any other suggestions?
I would like to delete as well old emails from some of my 4 Gmail accounts, in one account it says I have over 999+ email, does that take off space from phone or it sits on Gmail server and only brings in headers until requesting more info?
I never got the recovery menu either.
I am one my 4th Droid Razr Maxx..They all do the same thing
And yes I have cleared the cache, reset the phone....blah blah blah
I am wondering, ever since 4.1.2 the phone is a paper weight. They send me the same phone with a processor that cannot handle the increase in the usage. The phone is great battery ect..but not much good when it does not respond.
That's unusual performance from the advanced and reliable Razr Maxx selracer, especially after three replacements! Sounds like there may be a pattern developing here. I recommend testing the device in safe mode for a full day to rule out third party app conflict. Please let us know how the device responds. A hard reset would be the next step after that. If the device still doesn't respond a replacement would be the same make and model.http://tiny.cc/oluf4wJonathanK_VZWVZW SupportFollow Us on Twitter@VZWSupport
