i am due for an upgrade on 3 phones. 750$ with verizion or 300 $ with at&t. I think I have to switch on principle alone.
A lot of bad decisions are made "on principle alone."
You got to shop around. Verizion at my local Wall Mart has them for $168
Not sure where you get $99 for AT&T. It is $200 on the AT&T website, the same as on Verizon after a $50 mail in rebate.
If at&t works for you and your family where you need it to work then yes go with them but changing to at&t just because of the less money for the phones would not be the thing to do if after you get these phones they don't work where you need them to work. That would end up being very costly to you because you would end up with a 2 year contract that would be very costly should you decide at&t just does not work for you and your family. I know it does not work at my house at all. Good luck with it if you change to at&t.
I think he must be talking about trading in his old phones to AT&T to get 50% off/ up to 100 dollars off deal.
I would say it's likely a better Idea to sell your old phones your self if you can via e-bay or Craigslist.
I would not pick AT&T just over the price of the phone's alone. Though if they both work about the same in your area or if AT&T works better for you then that may be the way to go. Good luck with what ever you end up doing OP.
I looked at multiple deals, bestbuy has a trade in program and then get a $50 GC with upgrade, ATT has their deal and other companies have the phone for around $160 with 2 - year. Grant it, I think Verizon should have it $199 but thats another story for another day, but then I guess they do, you just need to wait for the $50 rebate (which I wish was instant),
Now for what to do with your old phone, e-bay it or craigslist it, thats your best option.
Buy it from Verizon on-line for $200.
Now my local Wall Mart has it for 168.00 and they throw in a 50.00 gift card, so that makes it 118.00. Pretty dam low for this phone.
Make sure you know what the other stipulations are, if any, and they are worth the $82 savings vs ordering from Verizon.
