Is it legit to cancel if phone no longer has connectivity? My S3 cannot connect to 4G, is that a reason to cancel service without paying early termination fee?
After all , its Verizon wireless at fault.

No.
It is a shame that VW has not communicated nor acknowledge the problem and much less if they are trying to fix the problem. I am getting frustrated by this situation.
You will need documentation that you contacted VZW and gave them a chance to resolve the issue but just not being able to connect to 4G and you are in a strong 4G area you need to call VZW and maybe determine why so VZW can replace your phone or fix what ever the issue might be. It is very hard to break the contract without paying the fee.
What's the problem with s3? I have one but I live in Vegas and everything always works fine out here
is my plan over or am I on month to month service
I am willing to pay fee attached to cancellation if need be
You would have to check when your most recent contract was signed. If it was within the past 2 yrs, your plan is not over. If it was more than 2 yrs ago, you are on month to month.
Normally, if you dial #upg from your phone, it will return the date you are eligible for a discounted upgrade. That would ALSO be the date you are out of contract.
