No ringtone no sounds no speakerphone!

Both of my Razr Maxx's have lost their sounds. Can't hear incoming calls (no ringing) sounds do not work and when I'm in a call, the speakerphone will not work. Is this a hardware problem. Neither phone has had any abuse whatsoever. It's strange that they both started acting up at the same time. Tried different troubleshooting with no luck. The speaker rub thing did work on one of my phones temporarily. Can I get replacement phones???

The Droid Razr Maxx is definitely a populr device with an array of features. We want you to be able to stay connected to friends, family, & loved ones. One way to do this is with ringtones working so you can b notified. Rest assured as we are dedicated to get this working for you. While you said there wasn't any abuse on the device, is there any liquid damage on the device? Also, are you using theb stock ringtones or 3rd party ringtones that you downloaded? Also, please share the software version that you have installed on the phone as it may be software related. I'm looking forward to your reply.

I have also started having sound issues last week, with my Razr Maxx. I have owned it since Dec. 2012. The same as the original poster on this string, my phone is not abused, has never been dropped or exposed to liquid. I do use a mp3 sound byte for my incoming call ringtone, but use stock ringtones for notifications. Even when I place a call, I cannot hear the ringing of the number dialed or the person answer. The speaker just does not work. The only solution I have found is to power off and restart my phone. This does not help at all if I cannot hear an incoming call or hear someone I dialed, answer the call.

Hope Verizon has a solution to this problem.

This problem has just surfaced for me, also. No speaker sound whatsoever. Ringtone is basic droidlab, Android 4.1.2, SystemVersion 98.72.16.XT912.Verizon.en.US. Power off with reset has no effect. I have had this phone for well over a year. Pleas help!!!

If "the speaker rub" temporarily fixes the problem, then it is a loose speaker connection. This happened to me about a month ago. I tried a factory reset and several other software related fixes to no avail. Call customer support and have them replace your phone, if it is still within the one year warranty. That's what I had to do.
