how long does it take for a feature to become activated

i just added unlimited data to my vx 6900 and i was wondering how long it takes to become active

It should be effective immeadiately, but it may take about 5 minutes or so to be sent thru the switch. But for billing purposes it's effective immeadiately.

i think this is along the same lines as the previous question: i just changed from 500 additional txt messages to 5000, but i checked the usage amount afterwards and it still says 500, does this just need to update? or do i not have the 5000 additional texts yet?
