iPhone 5 external speaker stopped working

The external speaker on my iPhone 5 suddenly stopped working. I've tried everything I can think of to troubleshoot this problem; Rebooting the phone, not connected to a Bluetooth device, the vibrate switch is not on vibrate mode, etc. My iPhone has always been pampered and has been kept dry and in a Outter Box case.

Taking it to VZW Store and if they do not know what to do, I'll take it to an Apple Store.

Anyone else have this problem or have any suggestions?

I'm sorry to hear about the problems you're having with your iPhone 5!  I would love the opportunity to try and save you a trip, and resolve this issue for you!



First, have you tested the device without the Otterbox case?  Are you able to hear audio through the earpiece when on a call?  Is it only happening on speakerphone calls or when playing any audio files?



I would also like to suggest restoring the device via iTunes http://vz.to/1c895Ks.  If that doesn't work, restore the device again, but as a "new device".  Please let me know how this works out for you.  Thanks!
