I'm a Former Verizon Wireless Employee with Billing Issues That Ruined My Life

Verizon Wireless continues to ruin my life well after I leave the company. I was a loyal employee of nearly three years and employee of the quarter, and always received positive feedback from my customers. However, Verizon has ruined my life...now I have a collection mark on my credit report that will stay until 2019, because they kept mailing the final bill to the wrong location. My life is now ruined and they reused to remove the entry even after I paid it. Now I can't buy a home or send my child to college, or complete my renovation on my business...a nice way to screw me for life. Thank you Verizon Wireless

Certainly, I'm aware of contacting customer service. I ported several lines over a few months and had to wait for the bills to prorate. I'm not clueless about the process.... But, I do not seek answers. Thanks

Why didn't you just go to a Verizon store and pay the bill? Why wait for it? You should have know what the bill would be about. And after the FIRST time you notice they were mailing it to the wrong address you still didn't pay it. Did you not think you have to pay it? Quit blaming others. And all this "ruined life" is hyperbole. You're child can get student loans and there is FAFSA grants not to mention scholarships and other grants. Also you child could you know get a job and save money for college.

I never knew the bill was going to another location until January after the account went to collections. I also know my child could take grants and loans. However, keep your message about the billing issue...not my child. By the way, I pay all my bills and have very good credit ...Thanks

Sorry to hear about your collections mishap, just keep in mind this is a peer to peer forum for customers and you likely will not receive the help you are looking for from Verizon.

Now you say that the account went to collections and you have paid it. So at this point I am not sure what you can negotiate anymore. I've read that if you have something in collections and tell the collecting company that you will pay them if they remove the negative mark from your credit, they will negotiate it with you.

In this situation, if things are as you say and you did not receive the final bill at the correct address, then you may have an argument to take to the credit bureaus. I would file a report with the credit bureaus and see where that takes me, also once your account goes to collections to my knowledge it doesn't have anything to do with Verizon anymore. The debt is between you and the collections company. I would try to contact them and see if you can somehow negotiate having the collection removed from your credit report seeing as the debt has been settled and the bill was never sent to your correct address.

I haven't really ever dealt with an account in collections, so this is just some helpful information I have thought of, if anything is not accurate in how you can deal with this, I apologize.

I'm looking this the same way as the member that answered your post) You came to the Forum for answers isn't that correct and a forum member gave you one a good response and you crinkled it with your reply.. What the member said is correct you've got to do for your self not have one's do for you that means if you in think in doubt there is an issue with said bill you look into it, you correct it by either visiting the Store in your area or by calling customer service by a phone that you have in service or by a family member or by friend.. since you worked for Verizon you ought to know how to get a hold of Account services I've used them in the past and they help get us get back on track, it did not hurt our account one bit this can and should have been done..
