phone freezes/locks-up overnight

when charging overnight it will sometimes "freeze/lock-up" - led light still flashing, but can't turn on screen & alarm won't ring (I use it for my morning alarm) -when I try to get the screen on it does nothing until I remove & replace battery - HELP Smiley Sad does anyone know what is going on? has this happened to anyone else? how do I fix this problem? do I just need to go into the local verizon store?

Hello Clemcooke,

It's certainly a popular trend to use your device as an alarm clock. I know my phone doubles as my alarm clock as well. Wouldn't want you to be late for work with your device freezing overnight. Does this occur during the day time? When did this begin? It sounds to me that an app or other system updates may occur during this time which may cause the device to lock up. Are application set to automatically update?

It only does it overnight...while on the charger. It has done it 3

times...1st time 2 weeks after I got it (in June), 2nd time 1 month ago

(mid August), 3rd time 5 days ago. The apps were set to automatically

update until after this last time and I changed the settings for them not

to do so. I was hoping that might be the cause of the glitch.

Ok thanks for the additional details clemcooke. An intermittent, infrequent occurrence can be difficult to pinpoint. You could be experiencing app conflict. Do you power cycle the device at least once a day? Have you tested the alarm at a different time when it isn't on the charger? As an additional option, you could also test the device in safe mode to rule out app conflict.

Did it yet again. I have already reset apps to not automatically update

(did this after the last time). My daughter did notice a

pattern...everytime this has happened has been overnight on Wednesday

pm/Thursday am.
