My phone won't back up. What do I do?

I have tried to back up my phone. I have had it for 7 months and it has never backed up!!! It looks like it is going to back up, but I have had it plugged in on Wi-fi overnight and it still won't back up.....What do I do? My husband's phone backs up. Is there something wrong with my phone? Help!
