Charging issues - problem with port or charger itself?

In the last two days, I've discovered that my GS3 has a problem with charging. The charger feels loose in the port and my phone only charges when held at a certain angle/charger connector is held at a certain angle/etc. Is this a problem with the phone or should I just get a new charger?

I would start with a new charger cord. If that doesn't work, the charger port may be failing (this does happen).

Is there a way to fix the a charger port that is "failing" or does the phone just need to be replaced at that point?

I'm sure some cell phone repair shops could repair it, but it might be better to get a warranty replacement if the phone is still under the one year manufacturers warranty.
