Will I be able to upgrade 30 days before our contract is up?

We are approaching 30 days left in our contract, Will Verizon allow us to upgrade to new devices in the last 30 days or do we have to wait until it's completely expired? I'd prefer to be able to do in a local store so we can take advantage of better pricing? Anyone have experience in this area?

Apple has a very strict policy that they do not allow early upgrades. Nothing Verizon can do if they want to carry Apple products. Android manufacturers are not so controlling.

Additionally, what you may have been offered is an Early Edge upgrade. This is a promotion which currently includes the Droid Turbo. In September/October it was for the iPhone 6/6+. The promotion is subject to change which is why they told you to check back later in case the phone(s) which were eligible changed to something you were interested in getting.

Doubtful. Many here have said verizon does not give early upgrades.

It has also been written that some have received one a week early.

But as a rule no early upgrades.

I would completely understand if I was trying 6 months... but at <30 days that just seems like poor customer service and greed on Verizon's part. Personally it would seem to their benefit to upgrade me while I was under contract rather than let me totally expire and then have the option to shop around and look at other carriers... We like Verizon's coverage and would just like to a little appreciation in return... Don't think 30 days is to much to ask....

Unfortunately the policy is the policy. In days long past you upgraded at 20 months. Now it is at the full two years. It is their company.

Verizon must have a reason for the change. Eventually verizon wireless will go to all non contracts. Full price devices, full price accessories and of course higher prices for services.

It is the way of big business. You see in most cases you will not have good coverage if you switch to another company. So they got you.

For now you have to weigh your decision if it is in the best interest of you and your family to change providers.

You could always buy at full price and you won't have any more contracts.

There is absolutely no upgrade any longer. Only an excuse to overcharge you if it hasnt been 2 years. Look at an iphone 6+, anyone off the street can sign a 2 year agreement and get it for $299 plus tax. I HAVE an upgrade on my line, STILL $299 plus tax. WHERE IS THE DISCOUNT?

Spent 10 minutes on chat and KAWANA was less than helpful.

False Advertising Verizon!

Just tell us you discontinued the discounted upgrade!
