Voicemail indicator will not go away

I was in Gulf Shores Memorial Weekend and my Voicemail indicator will not go away.....does anyone know how to make it go away. I have restarted my phone and erased everything in my voicemail and I used to work for Verizon but I still can't figure out what to do?

I have the exact same problem on my Motorola Maxx droid. The problem started about 2 weeks ago. I hope you get a decent answer from support.

Call your number from another phone and leave a short VM. Then from your phone, call voicemail and delete the message you just left. This should clear the notification from the phone. It has worked for me in the past.
