When I go home and connect to my wifi router, the wifi and 4G icons both show up in the notifications bar. I just switched from my S3 to an S5 and previously I only saw the wifi icon when connected. It at least gives the appearance that I'm using both connections. The whole idea of connecting to the wifi is so that I'm not using up my data plan.
