DROID RAZR Problems

I got a new DROID RAZR and tried to turn it on and use it(with my old SIM card from my last RAZR) and I am not able to call or text, almost like it is not activated. I call Verizon Support and they tell me to dial *228 ( KNOWING THAT IS NOT HOW TO ACTIVATE A 4G LTE PHONE!!) and I get this message when I do dial it "A verizon wireless sim card has activated your service and update your phone's roaming capabilities."

You are not alone. My son had his phone replaced by Asurion because, as appears to be happening to a lot of people's phones, the replacement he just got in May developed battery issues...wouldn't charge. Maybe it was just mysteriously draining quickly like so many I am reading about. Number two replacement just arrived today and he is having exactly the same activation problems, I called Verizon with the Device ID and SIM card number and now all he got was the same exact message you got. WTH? He also was the following on his old phone and tonight during Verizon step-by-step on the phone..when told to dial #832, he got this message...Please redial the number and..I don't know the rest of the message. It's like an intercept or redirect on his phone calls out. So I ask you Verizon, "WHAT IS GOING ON AND WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO FIX IT?"

Which model of Droid Razr do you have.? In the Motorola Family of phones..

There's the Droid Razr Maxx the Droid M, the Razr Maxx HD and the current, The Droid Maxx, the Ultra and the Mini if you had a.. Droid Razr Maxx and you've recently went to the new Droid Maxx the Sim Card size between these two devices are Quite different the older model uses the Micro Sim Card the new Droid Maxx & even the Droid Razr Maxx HD uses the new Nano Sim..

You'd have to get a new Micro Sim if you have a new Droid Maxx.. And with 4G & the Sim Cards they took the part of Calling * 228 Send >> 1

I understand your concern and frustration. We want to get your son's phone up and running again as soon as possible. Was he able to activate the device successfully? Based on the message received when testing the call, it seems like this did not happen. He can activate the IMEI/MEID and SIM card through My Verizon. Once activated, test the call and keep us posted please. In addition, Asurion offers a warranty with their replacements and can also help you troubleshoot; they can be reached at 888-881-2622.
