Switched from Iphone to Galaxy, Contacts with Iphone's can't message me

I've switched from the Iphone to the Galaxy S5, everyone in my Contacts list that still has an iphone, can not text me. I keep showing up as an imessage. My iphone has been sold back to Verizon and wiped. My Contacts have deleted me and reentered me, nothing seems to be working. Help

Text the word "stop" to 48369 from your new phone. This should deregister your number from Apples system. Restart your phone.

It should work now, but some iPhones may take a while longer before they will recognize your phone not being in Apple's system.

Or Deregister your number from imessage by going to selfsolve.apple.com/deregister-imessage.
