Galaxy s5 Location Off?

Hello,

I've had my Galaxy s5 since Thursday of last week. I am in love with it, but I am having a small issue-- Sometimes the location randomly places me 50 miles from where I actually am. This wouldn't be a problem but I use Google Maps and a few other apps that require my exact location, and it will not benefit me if it keeps placing me 50 miles away.

Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere that could be causing this? I restart the phone and it works fine for a little bit but then starts placing me 50 miles away in the exact same spot every time. Now, I will say that it usually only happens when I'm at work, but I'm always connected to Wi-Fi while at work and it still does the exact same thing.

Chxnce We definitely want to make sure your GPS is functioning correctly. Go to settings, location settings and make sure "high accuracy" is selected. Then restart the phone and retest.

I did, and it is still doing this. Should I take it to the store to have it looked at?

Thanks for the update! using the last steps provided, did you also ensure that the Google Locations services have been enabled? If this only occurs while connected to Wi-Fi, we can link this issue to the Wi-Fi network. In those instances, it is best to disable the Wi-Fi connection and test again. Since this does not appear to be happening in all locations, we can help determine that the phone may not be the issue.

I followed the above settings and then did not connect to the WiFi, and it worked. It tracked my location precisely. I was just confused since the iPhone I previously had connected to the WiFi and had no issues. But at least I know it is not my phone. thank you!
