Kitkat download

Kitkat was downloaded onto my Note 2, but after reading all the horror stories about this update, I want to stay with JellyBean so I haven't installed Kitkat. But every day I get the stupid notification to update and all I can do is click "Later". Am I going to have to deal with this every day for the rest of the time I own this phone or is there a way to get rid of the file and/or notification?

We want you to have the best device experience! Software updates are made to improve the device. You can keep clicking on the "Install later" option. Eventually the phone will install the update per there is no way to keep the update from installing to improve the device.
