I recently purchased an HTC One from Verizon. When I turn on Bluetooth, it doesn't find my 2010 Acura TL's Bluetooth device. It worked fine with my previous phone, a Droid RAZR MAXX, therefore, I think it is an issue with the phone.
I would bring your phone and the car to the auto dealership since with these new car connections they have updates and troubleshooting that you do not have.
