Why can't I see my Verizon e-mail folders?

For some reason, I can not see any of my verizon email folders on my IPhone (except for the inbox). My Gmail folders show up fine. Is there a way to do this or is this a shortcoming with Verizon email services?

I'm sorry those folders are not available when using a POP email account on the iPhone. That is an option on some IMAP email accounts.
