Why buy ringtones/songs from media store?

I've been a Verizonwireless customer for years -- through several types of phone devices.  I have spent far too much money on ringtones and songs that apparently cannot be re-downloaded or have problems with DRM that won't let me reinstall on new devices.  My "redownload" list is 43 items long.  Only one can download at 0 cost.   Only one other can be downloaded again -- at it's full price of -- $2.99!  I'm about to give up.  What am I doing wrong???

Buying ringtones from Verizon or any company is definitely a waste of money. I suggest you take about 20-30minutes and go back thru the posts in this particular Media Store section. You will find dozens of posts regarding free ringtones and how to make your own, certainly worth the read.
