incoming call announcement

Recently incoming phone calls coming from other Verizon customers to my Droid 4 are preceded by an announcement "Verizon Wireless Customer" followed by my ringtone and then the announcement again. I find this annoying but how can I turn it off? I haven't heard of other Verizon customers experiencing this.

A friend solved my problem. Turns out it was related to "roaming tone"

which I had checked when up in Canada. Once he unchecked the box, I've had

no more announcements.

Let's get your ringtones worked out for you. I would find that a little upsetting too. Does this occur as a part of the ringtone? If so, have you tried programming another ringtone? Keep us posted.

I had been having the same problem for a while and nothing would fix it! Every suggestion I have read did not work. I finally found an app on my verizon phone called Assist. It is identified by colorful little triangle. I opened it and turned it off and now the phone is working fine. I had tried every other suggestion I could find in this is the only thing that worked.
