block spam calls

I installed Blacklist Ultimate to block spam calls on my Razr M. It works great, but instead of ringing my phone (blocked call) it sends call direct to voice mail. Then I have to go through all my voice mail to delete. Not great. Does anyone know a better way to blacklist numbers and simple disconnect the call? Yes, I am on the government no call list, what a joke.

You need to go to the Play Store and download an app called Call Control. It has a free and paid version. It has the options you are looking for, i.e., block all calls - allow white list and contacts, block all calls - allow contacts, block all calls -allow whitelist, block all calls. You can also pickup and hangup blocked calls. Really an excellent program that I've been using for a couple of years. Try it - you'll like it!

You mean they actually leave you a voice mail? Most of mine are just hangups, no voicemail is left. Case closed.

If you are getting spam voicemails, I suggest an app like You Mail or Google Voicemail - much better at filtering, blocking, and screening your calls than Verizon's standard or paid for services, and they are also free.

You can also access the audio files on your computer for quick deletion.... for those times when they actually do leave a message. The big plus is that you have an audio file of all your voicemails that you can save for future reference.

99% of time they leave no message, but some political calls do leave message.

problem is, Verizon voice mail is triggered whether message is left or not and must be cleared from my account.

There is an app called Mr. Number, you can report numbers as spam and send them direct to voicemail or hang up on them immediately. Very handy to have and allows for unlimited amount of numbers to be blocked too!

What type of phone do you have because if you have iphone you can just click the exclamation point and scroll down and just block the number so the same one doesn't call you anymore

Android from Verizon. Blacklist Ultimate allows all calls not in contacts list to be blocked. That would suit me fine but it just blocks them by sending them to voice mail. Not Good! Many have suggested using services that block numbers you tell them to block but that takes time. I need an app written to create a simple app that compares incoming call to contacts list and rejects it if it is not there (using same method as a disconnected phone line).

That is great but I get that many calls per day from all different numbers. There is no way to keep up. Do not call list is a joke! I file complaints and get more calls. It is as if the scammers or connected to the do not call list tracker. Having an unlisted number does not work either because most calls are computer generated picking numbers out of an area code sequence.

Block up to 10 numbers? OMG! 10?!?! Why that would be enough to block all the spam-scam calls in America I bet! Thanks, Verizon. I guess you have mastered the art of protecting the revenue stream from all the abusive callers while simultaneously throwing us a worthless sop to keep regulators and politicians from intervening!
