I have a Droid Maxx and it's a great phone in fact one of the best out there. Far better specs than the iPhone and probably the best battery out there, it went from Friday to Friday 7 days without a charge and still had 22% of the battery left.

Then I must have gotten a bad batch. My battery on both devices, does not

last 24 hours on WiFi!!! And tech support agent ryan (female) was so rude!!!

Like I said I have had 2 in three weeks, not happy at all, I have gone

through all the troubleshooting steps, and I am confident Motorola has a

bad batch of this device.

I appreciate the steps you have taken, jarogers1972. Usage habits can have a great affect on battery life. Do you use a lot of data or applications with your phone? How long is your battery life currenty lasting?

I would like to second jarodgers comment, I too have had two different Droid Maxx phones and both do not work properly. My battery life was great til the latest software update yesterday morning. Now I get a message saying "Message delivery failed or message receipt failed" popping up every 5 seconds or so, thus preventing the screen from turning off automatically.

But, back to the original problem leading to the second Droid Max - There are major issues with the phones native text application. I would randomly get messages saying "Messaging app has stopped working." with [OK] as the only option to close it. The message would pop-up when I wasn't using it as well. Probably every time someone messaged me and it didn't come through.

I have been to the Verizon store multiple times since getting the phone to deal with this issue. Under Verizons guidance, I've backed up my phone, reset it and still had the problem. Then the people at the store direct me to order a replacement. Awesome! I get to trade my brand new phone in for a "refurbished" replacement phone.

Does this fix the issue? NOPE. Same issue with the new phone. Turns out there tons of other people having the same issue. Even the manager at the store has the same issue with his Droid Maxx texting app. This is the same guy who directed me to get a replacement after the factory reset did not work. Only after repeatedly pushing for an answer, would the verizon reprentatives (two different store managers and tech support) admit there is a KNOWN issue and I'll just have to wait for the software update.

One would think a company like @Verizon would stand behind the products they sell. Instead, the company has customers go through the standard troubleshooting and replacement procedure in hopes the new software update from Motorola will fix the issue in the mean time. This shady business practice is likely wasting millions of dollars for Verizon's customers (time and lost business due to messaging not working).

In closing, the Droid Maxx is a problematic phone. Do NOT buy it. Do NOT purchase a phone from Verizon. They will not replace it with a different phone.

Yes Ryan. You are so very correct, I spoke with a Tier II agent named Ryan

(female) she was rude discourteous and really did not seem to care. She

flat out told me that I was stuck with this (removed) phone. That Verizon will

NOT give you a different model of phone, because it's not a Verizon problem

it's a Motorola problem. Also as too the messaging, I downloaded the

Verizon Messaging app and it works flawlessly. Maybe if enough of us make a

stand we can get something done, my phone also automatically goes to the

how may I help you voice detection, even after I turned that feature off.

Last night it made a random call to a friend on the east coast and it was

2am there... This phone really does suck!!!

Tech support was nice to me, but basically said tough, "you'll need to do another hard reset" after the last update that went out on Thursday. I did that and now it is going to take days for the VZ cloud to restore my phone. Got a solid wifi connection - The bandwidth is capped or something. Over an hour to download 12 pictures from VZ cloud.

Motorola Droid Maxx Review - Do NOT buy this phone.

On the plus side, I'm becoming a pro at backing up my phone.
