Does VZW plan on doing anything about other carrier's great new plans?

I was recently approached by my mother about Sprint's new friends and family plan. Just in our immediate family between my folks, their three sons (myself included) and our wives, we can get 10 people on the new Sprint plan for $25 a person. That's $50 a month for my wife and I, where currently I'm paying $140 a month with Verizon for the two of us with a family share plan with just 1GB of data. I'm having a hard time justifying staying with Verizon, a carrier I've been with since they became Verizon (I was with Bell Atlantic back then for my pager... lol). The deals going around out there are too tempting to pass up. Does anyone know if Verizon plans on countering with new plans of their own?

Please keep in mind, on Sprint's new calling plan the data allowance is only on their data network. Using their data off network will incur additional charges which can be pricey. At this time we do not have any information on new plans that will be available on our network. Then you should definitely make the switch. No one on these forums will be able to give you any information on if/when Verizon plans to counter with new pricing on their plans.

T-mobile also has a great deal. I cancelled, and switched four lines of service. I then purchased all new phones on T-mobile's payment plan. I am now saving $100 per month. I loved verizon service but it wasn't worth the price.
