KitKat update sucks. Motorolla, how do I fix....

So, how do I fix...

Text Background has gone from black to white and text from white to black. I want my black background and white text back please.

Group texting no longer works. My phone knows they are there and indicates I have a msg, but it's nowhere to be found. Even more annoying to get rid of the msg indicator I have to delete all threads due to this.

I often do not receive a text notification.

I don't want the **** texts to show up where my clock is. How do I make that go away?

Blocks callers can now text me again.

I now have to turn off Bluetooth and turn it back on to get my devices to connect.

No swype. Really? I know, download an ap (because Ice Cream Sandwich is lame).

I'm sure I'll find other "New and improved" drawbacks to Ice Cream Sandwich. I wonder when I'll notice something that's actually improved. There was some kind of point to this 'update' wasn't there?

Oops, with the Swype comment obviously I mean KitKat is lame. Boy I'm just batting 1000 today with the brain-farts.

BonhamR We apologize for the issues since the Kit Kat update. All manufactures which released the update working on a fix. In the meantime, some customers have found success with basic troubleshooting. As for the text, swype and background concerns, this is how the device is intended to function so there is not a fix for those features.

I cannot answer all of this but I can answer part of it for you.

To remove the Text notifications from the Circle Widget swipe the small circle down so it flips over. Clock on the gear that is there and uncheck Text Messages and the notifications for Text Messages will NO longer show up in there.

So, as part of the 'update', features were removed.

This update didn't add anything I use. However, not only did it change things away from how I wanted them (i.e. text colors - and that's a pretty damn simple thing to give us control of how we want them), but it broke other things (like group texts - who's the brainiac that missed that in testing?) and you actually removed stuff I did use.

KitKat changed the entire way people work on their phone. I am only aware of 1 or 2 things that I actually like better, but those are all behind the scenes things. I do not like the anew Text platform, the restrictions on the SD card, the removal of the mute icon when you unlock the screen, or the removal of anything from the lock screen to be complete here.

This is by far the worst OS downgrade is probably more accurate. It sucks completely. You have a lot of people that are oviously unhappy with KitKat. You need to remedy this complete fiasco.

Wow ... The OP and other comments sure have that right. Kit kat sucks.

"Oh, you want to send group texts to the groups you create in gmail and contacts?" Not going to happen... Because the new text messenger cant do that. And Hangouts will not access your created groups either. So n kitkat what is the point of creating groups in contacts .... Oh I mean, what is it call now?? Oh yeah, People ... Another major suck.

i Searched for a week in May upon getting a kitkat phone in disbelieve trying to send a group text. I just knew i was missing something. Well apparently not. Your only option. Hangouts. And you have to go thru the contact list every time and pick the names if you delete the last conversation group you created. You cannot name or save groups in Hangouts nor can you use the ones created in Gmail / contacts / people. I am not sure why the new people even lets u create groups .... Where can u use them? Ive not found a use for them yet.

want a suggestion. get the Handcent text app and problem solved.

lets talk phone dialer and call history. The dialer sucks. And Your not going to be able to batch delete call. History. Its one at a time in a 3 step process or all or nothing. Dayum .... Who were the dumb masses that coded this crap.

How about the top drawer. Gone is the quick mute, brightness selection, gps on/off, data or wifi on/off controls across the top. Welcome to a 3 plus step process to do anything you could do in version 4.0 with a swipe and select.

i daily discover more and more that sucks in kitkat.

Clearly a case where android went for form over function. "oh its so pretty". Yeah you're an idiot.

For deleting call history, my phone seems to be clearing the entire call history with the push of a single button. Go into Dialer, Recent, Menu and then click the Clear Call Log item and the entire call history clears (which phone do you have as the phone manufacturer may have set it up differently). The bar you are referring to you can put back on the screen. Click the menu button at the bottom and scroll all the way to the end into the Widgets section and select the Power Widget. Place it on the screen where you would like to keep it.

I also have many complaints regarding kit kat. This is the WORST UPGRADE I've ever seen!! I've never been angry or had LESS features after an upgrade. I had to go get google calendar- apparently my basic apps are no longer installed. My texts show up where my clock should be-- SO ANNOYING!!! I had to re-enable my bluetooth features-- why?? I lost swype, which was the best thing about having an android versus an iphone. I also can no longer figure out how to delete draft text messages without deleting the entire thread. My phone now runs REALLY HOT and the battery is drained incredibly fast, which I never realized started after the update until I cam on here; then I put the puzzle pieces together. My phone runs slower, and has delays. I have way more connectivity issues than I ever had before.

If I could go back, I would.
