Lg G2 won't send or receive photo messages

Hello. I cannot receive photo messages on my phone. An error message appears when it tries to download the attachment. My data is on, so it is not a connectivity issue. I also cannot send photo messages. When attempting to add a photo attachment the phone states that the attachment size has exceeded limit. This still occurs when I change my resolution and so forth. When I first got the phone I was able to send and receive messages with no problem. In the last two weeks I have had no luck. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice of what I can do? Thanks

Let's look further into this! Are you using the native messaging application? If so, can you successfully send and receive picture messages using the Verizon Messages application(can be install from the Play Store)? Have you tried clearing data on the messaging application in Settings>Apps? Please share.

Here is what worked for me (removed):

Disabled Google+
Disabled Verizon Security (or whatever it's called)
Used a different messaging app, such as Verizon Messages or Textra (I'm using Verizon Messages)

The default texting app still doesn't work for me after the above steps and countless reboots. Something else I noticed is the pics used for my contacts aren't showing within the texting app if they were pictures I took with my phone, but those that are feeding from FB, Google, etc. are there. Clearly a software issue with the app not handling pictures on the device correctly, but would sure be nice if they'd push out a fix sooner than their proposed September OS update.

Profanity removed as required by the Verizon Wireless Terms of Service.
