Loosing mobile hotspot connectivity.

I have a Droid Bionic and the Verizon mobile hotspot. Multiple time per day any devices connected to the hotspot loose connectivity. I usually have to enable airplane mode to reset the connection and then reenable the hotspot. Sometimes even this does not work and I have to completly restart the phone. When this happens everything appears to be normal. The phone shows that I have 4g and that hotspot is still enabled and the devices show that they are still connected to the mobile hotspot network. This is highly frustrating as I do not have access to any other broadband and I sometime use this for work. Any help would be extremely appreciated.

I'm sorry for any issues with your Droid Bionic and the hotspot connection. Let's get to work on this right away! Please allow me to clarify some information. Which device are you putting in airplane mode? The Bionic or the connected devices? How long has this been happening (is this a new issue or something that's been ongoing)?

I place the phone in airplane mode and then take it out and then turn the mobile hotspot back on. Just turning the hotspot off and back on does not work. Sometimes I have to completely reboot the phone. This is my second Bionic and I have had issues with hotspot connectivity with both phones. My wife has a Nexus, also with Verizon hotspot, and she has similar issues.

evermore414, we don't want this to be an ongoing issue for you and your wife. Perhaps there's an issue with the Wi-Fi that you're trying to connect to. Have you tried to connect to Wi-Fi in other locations?

I'm not sure what you're asking in regards to the WiFi. We are connecting through Verizon's mobile hotspot. Regardless, at this point I no longer think the problem is with the mobile hotspot but with the data connection to Verizon itself. The problems with it have been very frequent in the last few days. I haven't been up an hour this morning and it's already lost connection twice. I have discovered that whenever it happens that it isn't just the devices that were connected through mobile hotspot that loose connection. Even though the phone shows that it is still connected, any apps that use a data connection will not work. So it appears that the problem is with the phone loosing it's data connection and the mobile hotspot problem is just a side effect.

Edit: In the course of typing this up my phone has lost connection again. So that's three times in less than an hour. I cannot begin to explain how frustrating this is when we are paying the amounts of money that we are.
