LG G3....not quite sure what i think

Picked one up the other day. Went from a G2 to this bad boy. I will say that the screen is gorgeous. That said, not sure if I like this new flat icon design. The pages seem dull. The wallpapers aren't that great. And I am not sold on the very few camera setting choices. Don't see how it was such a big deal to have some basic modes like night mode and be able to change the exposure levels. Phone is a little big for total one handed use. The other thing I notice is comparing G2 to G3 at 65% brightness, the G2 is way brighter. Battery level is ok but I've been messing with it so I expect quicker drain. Stock keyboard is nice too. Really accurate for me. Just my thoughts. Others will differ.

Flat is the new in.

Look at the new Android L screenshots. Flat. Look at windows phone. Flat. Look at iOS. Flat. I honestly don't like the flat look either.

The only problem I have is I can't use my wireless charging... LG isn't releasing accessories anywhere in the states yet. Waiting for manufacturers to release their accessories is starting to peeve me. Samsung and LG are the most notorious when it comes to it. Release a device and then 2-6 months later finally release accessories.

I get battery life just like my other devices. I see myself being able to go about 2 days before charging. Currently sitting at 14 hours with 63% battery life left. Having the device at 45% is plenty bright for me.

As for camera I don't really take photos so I can't really say anything about. I'd rather use my point and shoot anyway(which I always carry).

It should be noted that the wireless charging debacle is not of LG's doing. This was an act perpetrated by the US & Korean carriers. Several websites indicate that the wireless charging feature was removed at their request.

Roughly the whole world who uses the international variant got wireless charging right out of the box.

I would also believe that this is the reason why the phone did not go on sale in the States shortly after launch. LG had to strip out the feature from handsets destined for US shores.

I don't see why Verizon and others had wireless charging removed. Its like you said, accessories for wireless charging are not even available at the store level to purchase. I ended scavenging the internet until I found a wireless charging back cover plate made by a third party vendor.

Tidbits

LG reps whether in korea let alone in the US didn't even know themselves what standard or even if it did support wireless charging. Yes I am Korean and yes I called both. I wish i recorded the conversations. So depending on what those reports got their info from could be completely wrong.

My favorite line I got...

"You have to ask the manufacturer. I don't know if the phone(G3), charging plate(LG), and appropriate case(LG) will work."

When i talked to the Korea LG about the Korean model i got the same canned response. They didn't know it supported wireless charging let alone what standard.

So those reports could be misinformation being passed around as you can see above the reps from 2 different regions couldn't tell me anything. One being from the home country.
