I have a Galaxy SIII. I have never had a problem with it until late last week. Wednesday I noticed that it was having problems charging. I at first thought it might be my charger so I tried several others, in fact I tried 5 wall chargers and 2 car chargers and had the same issue with each. Sometimes the phone would charge, sometimes it would blink in and out of charging and sometimes I would get a red x on the battery icon on the phone. I looked at the charging port to see if there was dirt or dust in it. I didn't see anything visible. I went to the verizon store on Saturday. I was hoping they could look at the port and maybe clean it up or see if it was damaged. I had two of the wall chargers and one car charger with me. I explained to the technician what was happening and asked if he could look at the charging port. i was told that he could not do anything with the phone until he could duplicate the results I was getting. I told him I did not have all of the chargers with me just 3 of the 7. He plugged the phone in with one of my chargers and got nothing. he then proceeded to use a verizon charger and it charged. I told him that sometimes that would happen. I was told my problem was that I was not using a verizon charger, he did not say Samsung, but verizon, and suggested I buy a new charger. Now my question is has anyone ever heard that we need to use a verizon charger on a GIII? I have never heard of that before. Does that mean we can't use any external battery packs? I have a mophie that I bought from verizon that has always worked with the phone in the past. I am truly confused.
