Recently joined Verizon and have been nothing but disappointed. Dopped calls, lies, and promises not kept.
Yep. VZ service is great, but customer service is, to be kind, lacking.
yes they know they have great service and have you under contract. So once you have a problem it is very hard to get it resolved.

Will be cancelling my and taking on the ETF. Also got paperwork to pursue arbitration or a small claims suit. My many calls to customer service c q n d I'll you in.
wow... nice job
I am sorry you had such a bad experience. I have been with Verizon for many many years and have referred a lot of people to them. Some have come back to tell me that they have had horrible experiences and others love them. I only visit one Verizon location in Houston when I have issues. They have never steered me wrong. I have had bad experiences at other locations. Either because the staff is not properly trained or they are pushing and trying to sell me something I don't need, knowing I am on a grandfathered plan that I cannot get back on if they make ANY changes to my account, etc. I have always had a great experience when I call customer service. (i.e. The sales rep at the store told me... is this true?) I will say, the customer service is not what it used to be. I remember receiving a courtesy call on numerous occasions to alert me of overage, and advise me to change plans prior to being billed, or a call to thank me for being such a long time customer and offering extra minutes etc. Unfortunately, those calls don't exist anymore and they seem to be heading in the same direction as other carriers, in the customer service department. It seems that they don't care how long you have been with them, whereas in the past, they did.I will say, they have not offended me to the point of changing carriers. I have had HORRIBLE experiences with the one carrier I had prior to Verizon.
Good Luck.
Kris005 - good news - cust service is alive and well. I just recently received a courtesy call from Verizon advising me of pending overages and they were very helpful in determining what changes I could make to eliminate overage costs and helped me find a plan that fit my needs and saved me money too.
I was recently lied to and as a result lost my unlimited data. It was a flat out lie and no I am being coerced into paying more or listening to nonsense. Very upsetting and disappointing. Verizon must be paying employees well to lie - but this will be their demise. Pull your money out of their stock, quick!
If you have also been lied to, please let me know. Hopefully we can get together in court and fight for our right to not be lied to!
I am with you! Good luck!
I've been a Verizon customer for nearly a decade, and I've always been happy with the service, but the only complaint I have is that it's too expensive for what it's worth -__- I feel what they charge for their service is just extortion. Sure, one could take their business elsewhere for less money, but one would experience way more dropped calls.
jleedefrancesco, I am sorry for any misinformation that may have been provide. What information were you advised of that resulted in losing your data package? Please provide detailsLindseyT_VZWFollow us on Twitter @VZWSupport

I have had Verizon since cell phones came out..Every year near the end of my contract I have had to (mostly) or wanted to buy a new phone. Verizon talked me into buying a new phone and getting grandfathered into unlimited data FOREVER. What a joke! My phone was a piece of junk from the beginning and of course I was FORCED to buy a new one. Verizon promptly told me if I bought a new phone I would lose unlimited data. Well I had no choice so I lost unlimited and at the end of my contract they will lose me. My payments were never late and I was a loyal customer so if they don't want to treat me right I'll move on BUT I won't give them another penny to break my contract...I'll stick it out. They lied to me.
I am switching when my contract is up. Can you tell me who the other company was you had trouble with. I need to find someone I can depend on.
I understand completely
