Since the KitKat "upgrade" was installed on my S3, I can no longer receive emails on my device.
Any thoughts on how to fix this?
...remove your email account from the phone ..and ADD new account ..it works ..email synced right up ..all my emails from the day loaded....
Hi toolfansat!Let's see what's causing the problem! Which email account are you referring to? Are you able to send emails?Thanks,AyaniB_VZWFollow us on Twitter @VZWSupport
I am using my Verizon email account from my phone. I can send emails, but not receive any.
I am having the same issue. My e-mail (default with the phone) has not updated since Android update 4.4.2 was insatlled on Sunday (6/29/14).
I'm having the same problem. I have a cox.net account and it hasn't updated since the upgrade. VERY frustrating!
I read on another thread to delete the account and then add again. That worked!
Thanks, solved the problem.
I am having the same issue with my Comcast email not synching. I have deleted and re-added the accounts three times. This works for a short period of time and then it stops working again. Any one else having the same issue?
RickMacWe definitely want to make sure you get your email! Currently, Comcast does not support mobile email. You instead will need to use teh Comcast mobile app itself in order to access your account! The app is called XFINITY Connect and can be downloaded directly from the Google Play Store. http://bit.ly/VO1L5ORuthW_VZWFollow us on twitter @VZWSupport
Ruth,
Thank you for the information, but I think you are not correct. My Comcast email was working just fine before the recent software update. I deleted one account again and the email started flowing. It works for a few days and then stops. It appears that you have a bug in the update that needs to be fixed. Can I roll my phone back to the old version?
Sent from my Verizon Wireless 4G LTE smartphone
I appreciate your insight, RickMac. I do apologize as the device cannot revert back to previous software versions. Were you able to test with the application link provided? YosefT_VZWFollow us on Twitter @VZWSupport
No, you can't go back to the previous version of the OS.
I too cannot receive emails on SamsungGalaxy3 since upgrade installed two days ago. Yes frustrated!
Did you get it resolved?
Not resolved yet. Had to delete/add accounts three times. Verizon will not admit there is a problem.
My Verizon Samsung galaxy 3 updated two days ago. No emails since!
Thanks for the tip. I'm trying this but my phone keeps freezing on the "Removing account..." step.
Deleted my email account and then added it back again and all is working fine now. Thanks!
Does anyone know answer to this problem? Having same issue and want to fix it right first time?
Guess will try Verizon store tomorrow and hope their tech can resolve.
Make sure the "Master Sync" is turned on. That's what I had to do to get it working. Go at the very top of your notification screen and hit the button with the three blocks and two arrows. Then hit "Sync". That should take care of it. For some reason, sync was turned off with the upgrade.
I am also having the same problem. It started after the update several days ago. It is only on one Verizon account. The email will not update. Auto sync, master sync are both on. A separate Exchange account updates. I removed the account and added it again and it worked for a few hours. Now it doesn't update any more. I am repeating the remove/add account fix today. What is the fix for this?
Same problem here!! my Hotmail is not syncing at all since 6-28-2014!!
Was working fine before update!!
Prior to the upgrade, I had no problems. After the upgrade/update, my emails didn't sync. After a few days of foolishness, it went back to working fine.
Then a new update occurred. And my email stopped worked entirely.
I removed my email and have been trying ever since to re-enter my info and I cannot get past the incoming server settings. It 'checks' and I get a popup message that the setup could not finish. "Unable to connect to server (-ERR [AUTH] Authentication failed)
I have the settings the way they should be (as they appear on the verizon website). I have turned the stupid thing on and off.
Magwheels, we want you to have the best experience on your device! However, the software update can affect your e-mail feature. The error message that you recieved is an indication that the password could not be verified. Connecting to Wi-Fi may affect the security verificaiton when adding that e-mail account. Make sure that you disable Wi-Fi and connect to our network when adding that e-mail account for the first time. Keep us posted. LasinaH_VZWFollow us on Twitter @VZWSupport
Wi-Fi is not enabled. (Nor is bluetooth, if that makes a difference).
I am using the "connection" that is established when I go through the account set up. I select the email set up icon. I choose "verizon.net". (I've chosen the "verizon.net" and the "Yahoo! Mail" options and gotten the same dead-end result.)
I still receive the same "Unable to connect to server (-ERR [AUTH] Authentication failed)" error message.
Let's try something different Magwheels! Instead of choosing verizon.net please choose "others", and see if you can set your email up this way. Thank you, MichelleH_VZWFollow us on Twitter @VZWSupport
The first problem I noticed was my battery was draining too fast. Next the "Speedtest" app update would not stop downloading so I removed it.
Next Google Now stopped working
Now No emails
I was planning to upgrade my phone to the S5 but decided to wait till September when the new one comes out. Now I may just shift to Apple.
Any progress from Samsung or Verizon on this upgrade?
Richard3000 We understand the importance of having a fully functioning phone. Let's see what's going on with your emails first. Which email account are you having issues with? What happens when you try to send or receive? Although we don't have details about a new update release, we can still try the basic troubleshooting. Sheritah_vzwFollow us on Twitter@VZWSupport
All fixed by Matt, store manager.
Maybe you can post what he did to fix the issue or ask Matt to post to this forum.
kitkat is a joke, and so are the idiots at verizon who allow these shit updates.
you can't revert to old version, just have to live with JUNK forced upon you by complete JACKASSES who have no clue
