Galaxy s4 problems

My galaxy s4 recently stopped working. Last week i was having problems with the phone turning itself off even though it still had sufficient battery. Id remove battery and reinsert and it would be fine. Then one day it wouldn't turn on. Remove the battery and reinsert and Samsung s4 logo would appear and then disappears and nothing else. would not charge or turn on. I figured it was a faulty battery so i ordered one online. I received the replacement today and it worked for about two hours then had same problem and wont turn on or charge. Help is greatly appreciated

Have you tried a different charging cord? How does the port look on the phone? Do you have insurance or warranty?

Help is our middle name briknasty! Let's get your device working properly. May I ask have the s4 experienced any liquid or physical damage? Also, what's the last action done on the device before the issue started? If you can share this info along with the info to the questions that tbo27 asked then we can assist.

I do in fact have insurance and not sure about warranty. However I have pictures and other stuff I would like to retrieve off existing phone. And being that it turned on for a short period of time with new battery I am hoping this is feasible. Ive tried other charging cords as well as one the one i normally use which was the one provided with the phone all to no avail. The new battery charged just fine with the cord but once it shut itself off would no longer charge or turn on. There was no liquid or other damage. It was just normal use. As for the last action, Im not really sure. I was using the text messaging the last time. But usually normal stuff. I did notice pressing the power button when it froze then shut off at least two times.

We want to do all we can to get that working for you again. Do you know if the pictures and other stuff has been backed up to a cloud service or to a SIM card? If so, it may be possible to retrieve the data. Considering what you are describing taking with the phone I cannot guarantee. Let's start with something that would not erase the data you want to retrieve. Try wiping the cache partition: http://vz.to/1u92cqs . If the device still does not reboot, try powering the phone on in Safe Mode: http://vz.to/1pQpdto . If you do get the device to power on make sure you back up any files you wish to keep as soon as possible (just in case).

Sorry for the late reply, but i was able to restart the phone once and backed up a lot of my material. It has since died again and it will no longer turn on again. today i went into the store and talked to a Verizon rep and although he was very short and rather unhelpful he said all i had to do was call and i would be sent a replacement as my phone was still under the one year warranty (which i explained to him). i appreciate all your help and i will be calling for further help a hopefully a replacement
