Evil Kitkat! On my new Galaxy Note 3, the update caused an OS error to pop up seriously every 30 seconds until I did a factory reset. Disappointingly, phone booted back up after reset and still has Kitkat (which I've since read is impossible to get rid of). My Note 3, which had great connectivity before the update and subsequent reset, now can't connect most of the time, in most places, outdoors or indoors, with 1 bar or even with ALL bars...pages won't load and I get the no network connectivity message. (Also text messages occasionally stall out, and it takes phone calls sometimes almost a minute to actually find the network and dial; sometimes when I try to call I get the no network message.) Multiple Ookla speedtest results are as follows. Download: 0.05, 0.03, 0.54, 0.30; Upload: 0.03, 0.03, 0.36, 0.34; Ping: 176, 228, 292, 70. On my Wifi, it's as follows. Download: 6.58, Upload: 1.45, and Ping: 47. Spent hours online chatting with 4 different Verizon tech people (who really tried but couldn't help), as well as a Samsung rep who wasn't too helpful. Is there anything I can do to have a phone that works again? (Don't really want refurb, but don't really want a useless phone...at this price!) I've done the remove battery and sim card more than once. Verizon was able to reset something on their end that helped for the first 2 pages I loaded, then nothing. I even did a second factory reset to see if that would help...nope. I've cleared the cache partition. I've adjusted the network mode from global to lte/cdma and back to global. Global data roaming has been adjusted to allow access for all trips. Hard reset, soft reset... Nothing has helped. Suggestions???? Must have a phone on which I can depend.
