Galaxy S5 will not dial. Calls eventually just time out.

As of last night I am no longer able to make calls from my S5. The phone just says 'dialing' and then eventually times out.

A few other possible symptoms of a problem - all within the last couple days.

frequent messages to check battery cover (once a day or so)

notification that 'vzwappservice' has stopped (three or four times in last couple of days)

battery seems to to be draining faster than usual

battery seems to be warmer than usual

I have pulled the battery and SIM card with no affect. I have seen a few others complain about a similar issues recently but haven't seen any resolution.

I Don't make a lot of calls so I am not sure when this started. Noticed the phone got a software update on 8/7...wondering if that started it.

We want to see you enjoying that update on your awesome phone, wohlfie. Is the battery warm while using or charging? Are you using the original battery and charger and cover that came with your phone? There are occasional times that the update may not mix well with some of your applications, so let's please put your phone into Safe Mode using the steps at http://vz.to/1yzYZ02 and see if you are able to place calls and if you receive any of the error messages you've mentioned.

Safe mode made no difference.

Everything is original - battery, cover, charger. Phone is only a few months old.

The battery seems warmer than usual when using it, but I have been using it for longer than normal at one time trying to resolve this problem.

Thanks for your efforts. Lets take a deeeper look into this issue for you. What is your zip code? Are you receiving any errors or announcements when attempting to make a call. Please try restarting the phone. Please advise if that helps.

I am in 55419.

I am not receiving any other warnings when attempting to place a call.

It just says 'dialing' in the upper right and then appears to timeout and goes to the 'call ended' screen.

I just attempted to call my phone and it goes straight to voicemail. The phone did not ring, but it does give a notification of new voicemail (which of course I can't call).

I have restarted the phone numerous times and also pulled the battery, storage card, and SIM card. No effect.

I have now tried the "Reset Settings" and it made no difference.

I am having this same issue. Developed last weekend, then suddenly started working again on Monday. It is now non-functional again. I have tried the Reset Settings option, no dice.
