I go to be with a full battery and wake up with 9% battery remaining. I have cleared my cache, but that hasn't worked. Please help. I shouldn't have to leave it on the charger all night in order to keep my battery full.
You may have something installed that's hanging in the background. What type of trouble shooting have you done?
I've cleared my cache and uninstalled apps that I don't use regularly, turned off all location services sync for all of my apps. What other suggestions do you have?
kernl, Let's ensure your battery is lasting longer than average so let's get to the bottom of this for you. How long is your battery usually lasting? Try installing battery doctor so you can see what applications are using the battery the most. Do you have wifi turned out during the day? How good is your signal throughout the day? Karenc,
Thanks for your response.
My battery maybe lasts 5 hours idle. Last night it was at 92% when I went to bed. I woke up this morning and it was 43%. I checked usage this morning and it breaks down like this:
Cell standby. 28%
Phone idle. 24%
WiFi. 20%
All other apps were below 5%.
I have a strong WiFi signal at work and at home.
My battery with usage lasts about 3 hours before I have to charge it. Usage is usually Facebook, TM, solitaire, mahjong, crossword. Some camera but not a lot.
Any ideas or thoughts?
Laura.
Sent from my HTC One on the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network
Under the Settings:Power - turn Sleep mode ON - it will turn off the data connection if you are not using it. Set all apps to update over wifi only; images backup set to wifi only.
Check to see if your network is set to LTE/CDMA and not GLOBAL.
I typically charge my phone overnight, and start the day with a full charge. It's now 5 pm, I have 64% battery left, and have made several calls, received and replied to several emails, and done some Google+ reading and responding. Plus my usual weather checks, Facebook check in for a brief bit, and other assorted stuff. Some days the One seems to drain more quickly, but I can usually make it through most of the day. I've used other phones that have better battery life....
I appreciate all of your suggestions.
SuzyQ - I already have set the options you suggested except for the Global and I've changed that.
B33 - I downloaded the app, but it seems all foreign to me lol. And I don't know how to change Network Cell standby.
Ann154 - Cell standby says time on 10h13m43s. time without a signal 0%.
My battery didn't draw down as quickly at work. I went in with 98% battery. It had drained only to about 78% over the 8 hours there. I only went on fb for a short time, and checked email, at work. I've been off and on for a total of about 1 1/2 hours, since 4:30pm and my battery power is now 17%. My usage shows: Fb 13%, HTC Blinkfeed 10%, Wifi 13%, Cell Standby 10% and everything else under 10% about 8 programs.
The battery drain still seems extreme.
Any other suggestions? Karenc is this normal?
I appreciate everyone's help and suggestions.
@SuzyQ -thanks, most of the suggestions, I have already done. I did change global to LTE/CDMA.
B33 - I did download the app, but it's foreign to me, all of that stuff and I don't knowhow to change Network cell standby. Thanks.
When I went to work this morning, my battery was 98%. I checked email and looked at fb briefly. When I got home the power was 78%. It is now 17%. I have probably been on it about 1-2 hours off and on, not continuously though. Usage is as follows: fb and wifi at 13%. HTC Blinkfeed and Cell Standby 10%. Everything else is less than 9% and that is about 8 things.
I still think my battery drain is high. Any other suggestions? karenc is this normal?
kernlThanks for all your efforts! With the battery usage lasting longer at work, the trouble does seem to be caused by something in your home environment. This may be an application you're using at home or a connection to either WiFi or the cellular network. Can you please follow the steps here: http://vz.to/1oE8usI to see if your battery life is changing drastically with any of the other information in your History? Is the screen on or signal lower during times of high battery usage? Please share the details!RuthW_VZWFollow us on twitter @VZWSupport
I have the same issue. For me I noticed the phone is always awake. I have also completely reset my device, and it seems to help for a few days, but then it happens again. This only started after I updated my device to Sense 6.0.
I don't have many apps installed either.
