I just recently signed up to Verizon expecting to have better signal, however I notice the signal bar is always at 3. Anyone knows how to update the PTL on Samsung s5 ?
@emanbass,I definitely want you to have the best signal possible! Three bars indicates good signal. Are you having issues with voice, data, or messaging? What's your zip code?If you are looking to update the PRL, the phone does it automatically. You can remove the sim card for a minute or two http://vz.to/UMq6Zl. This will refresh the connection to our network. JohnB_VZWFollow us on Twitter @VZWSupport

Which Android version are you currently using?
My mother has a Note II, and she stated this morning that she received an update that took about 13 minutes to download yesterday. An update that took at long on broadband, I'm assuming was KitKat 4.4.2. She said that since the update, her "service has been worse". Granted, it's only been a day, but when a non-tech savvy 60 year old states that her phone updated, and she noticed a degradation of service, chances are, it's actually happened. (Not to mention, after checking her version, it is KitKat 4.4.2.)
emanbass Thanks for the zip! We are showing great coverage in the area, overall. What specifically is happeing with your calls? Have you tried the steps above for removing the sim card? Sheritah_vzwFollow us on Twitter@VZWSupport
its 4.4.2
You are having the same issue as most of the signal complaints on the forum recently. The KitKat 4.4.2 update killed signal strength for some reason, and it probably won't be corrected until Android Lollipop 5.0.
