I'm posting this here because I'm not sure where else to go at this point.
I've never been a Verizon customer, but I've recently begun receiving emails addressed to my full name regarding my "Verizon account." Things like bill notifications, account updates, etc. I believe someone has registered a Verizon mobile number using my name and email address.
I have the last 4 numbers of the account, the last 4 numbers of the mobile number, as well as bill amounts. I've bounced around customer service, fraud protection, and account verification hotlines. So far I've only been able to determine that my SSN doesn't match any Verizon accounts, so I guess that's good.
Is there any way I can have my email address permanently removed from the Verizon database? Or find out the number of the schmuck who's registered his phone in my name? Since I don't have the full phone number, I can't get into the account. I was trying to see if I could get the number sent to my email address (the one which is apparently tied to the account), but so far it hasn't seemed possible.
